Malaysian Telco’s Urged to Upgrade 3G

September 27, 2007

Local telephone companies in Malaysia have been urged to be more proactive in shedding more light on their 3G services.

Speaking at the official launch of Malaysia’s new 3G and mobile live TV service, “U”, Minister of Energy, Water and Communications, Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik said that local Telcos should advertise products that are on offer more often. He also said that Telco’s can no longer just concentrate on coverage and interconnectivity but should also apply innovation to drive their products and services.

“U”, which has inked a deal with Celcom Bhd, will provide Malaysia with its first ever domestic roaming service.
