BT Manx to delay 3G Trail Projectdate: April 29, 2001 The launch date for the Isle of Man 3G network by BT Manx Telecom is to be delayed for another 2 weeks, a source told 3G Newsroom. The initial launch of the 3G services at the tiny island was set at the end of May, but looks likely to be pushed back to mid June. Earlier this week, NTT DoCoMo said it will miss the 30th May launch date for its Japanese 3G service by four months, leaving BT Manx as the front runner to launch the world's first commercial 3G service. The announcement by DoCoMo to push back to October has meant the competitor pressure has been lifted off BT Manx. It has taken this opportunity to also delay its own launch by 2 weeks to do more network evaluations.
