TI introduces new development kit for OMAP wireless processorsdate: April 22, 2002 Innovator Development Kit Fastest Route for Software Designers to Create, Demonstrate 2.5G, 3G Applications that Support Popular Mobile Operating Systems Using TI's OMAP Processors Wireless software developers and device manufacturers will be able to create and showcase innovative applications on a sleek, versatile development kit from Texas Instruments. The new Innovator Development Kit for OMAP processing platform will allow wireless software developers to easily port high-performance applications to TIīs widely adopted family of OMAP application processors, and reduces time to market for device manufacturers to deliver 2.5G and 3G mobile phones. Symbian OS is one of the first operating systems to be supported, extending the Innovator kitīs capabilities to software developers and mobile phone manufactures developing on Symbian OS. "With the Innovator Development Kit for the OMAP platform, TI will help wireless application developers, manufacturers and operators quickly develop wireless communications-centric applications and services that provide new dimensions to users' mobile experiences," said David Potts, worldwide director of applications for TI's OMAP platform. "TI will work with Symbian to offer the Innovator kit to its application developers to continue support for TI's OMAP platform as the ideal solution for software developers and device manufacturers to deliver innovative applications for 2.5G and 3G mobile devices."
