SK Telecom and HFR Deploy Nomad Access' CELLsim Product for Evaluationdate: April 30, 2002 Nomad Access Inc. announced today that SK Telecom and HFR have deployed Nomad Access' CELLsim product for cdma2000 1xEV-DO for evaluation and benchmarking purposes. CELLsim is a PC-based, traffic engineering and planning tool simulating a cdma2000 1xEV-DO cell. It enables the evaluation, comparison and optimization of radio resource scheduling algorithms in controllable, complex, realistic scenarios. By using CELLsim, operators can perform capacity planning and study how efficiently various scheduling algorithms realize their business model and QoS policy. Operators are able to find the optimal, revenue maximizing, scheduling configuration for their network and examine the effects of proposed scheduling parameter changes prior to introducing them in the field. "We provide cellular operators with innovative solutions to their quality of service and capacity problems," said Mr. Aharon Shapira, VP Business Development of Nomad Access. "We believe SK Telecom, which is one of the world's largest CDMA operators and the first to deploy a cdma2000 1xEV-DO network, will find our tools very instrumental in maximizing the efficiency of their network and tailoring it to their chosen business model and service policy," said Mr. Shapira.
