3G cellphone increase life-saving rate in emergency cases
April 20, 2004
NTT Comware announced that it has confirmed the effectiveness of a mobile telemedicine system in the latest demonstration test supervised by the National Cardiovascular Center (NCVC).
The system sends patients' data to a nearby hospital in realtime and receives appropriate emergency care instructions using a cellphone compliant with W-CDMA, a 3G cellular technology.
The test demonstrated that the system helps increase the life-saving rate in emergency cases.
The system has been developed by NTT Comware, Nihon Kohden, Fukuda Denshi, and Matsushita Electric.
