IPSec security toolkit for 3G network
April 5, 2005
SafeNet announced the availability of QuickSec for Telecom, the market's first IPSec network security toolkit to secure 3G Wireless Networks.
Security is a top priority for wireless operators to protect networks and sensitive data against threats such as fraud and privacy violations. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) mandates the use of IPSec and IKEv2 in 3G networks to provide maximum data integrity and security. To address this need, SafeNet's QuickSec for Telecom provides a state-of-the-art IPSec and IKEv2 security toolkit for OEM telecommunications equipment manufacturers to build cost-effective solutions that meet the 3G requirements for robust network protection.
QuickSec for Telecom provides end-to-end IPSec security and IKEv2 authentication features that are easy to integrate into network gateways and other telecommunications equipment. Designed specifically for telecommunications OEMs, QuickSec for Telecom delivers these unique and mission-critical features:
-- IPSec VPN security protocol standard
-- Multi-Gigabit packet processing featuring support for carrier-grade Network Processors
-- IKEv2 authentication standards for 3G network authentication
-- High Availability design for fault tolerant systems with failover and clustering capabilities
-- IPv4 & the new and improved IPv6 network standard support
"This is the first carrier-grade network security solution in the market that is specifically designed for the high performance, and high availability requirements of 3G infrastructure and VoIP networks," said Henk Pruim, Vice President and General Manager for SafeNet's OEM/Networking Business Unit. "SafeNet's QuickSec for Telecom allows telecommunication equipment vendors like Lucent, Nokia, Ericsson, and Motorola to integrate advanced IPSec security into their devices - faster, cheaper and more securely than any in-house developed solutions."
Complementing QuickSec for Telecom, SafeNet recently announced QuickSec IKEv2 Toolkit for OEM vendors to seamlessly implement the IKEv2 authentication protocol into advanced networking solutions, including FibreChannel networks, Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) devices and WLAN roaming solutions.
The QuickSec products are a key component of SafeNet's fully integrated security systems for VPN, Firewall, and Intrusion Prevention solutions. SafeNet offers OEMs a wide range of product choices to build advanced networking solutions, including intellectual property and chips for hardware acceleration as well as upper layer APIs, protocol stacks, and software toolkits.
