Connex adds Motorola v975 to 3G handset portfolio

April 6, 2005

Connex, Romania's mobile network operator, announced choosing Motorola v975 to enhance its 3G handset portfolio for the approaching commercial launch.

Packed with advanced multi-media functionality but still an affordable handset, the Motorola v975 takes the power of 3G technology and makes it available to Romanian users. The Motorola v975 includes two-way video conferencing, VGA camera with 4x zoom, streaming audio and video, download and playback, support for a wide range of multimedia files, and extended memory. One can not only access, but also share documents with others, at broadband-like data transfer speeds of up to 384 kbps.

"With the Motorola v975 and Connex 3G services, mobile communication takes a new step towards the exciting world of video mobile services. We are pleased to add the Motorola v975 to our 3G handset portfolio as it provides a new, stylish and affordable offering to our 3G customers", said Ken Campbell, Chief Marketing Officer Connex. "This handset will add another unique dimension to our 3G services", Campbell added.

Aurelian Sima, Country Manager Motorola Romania comments: "We welcome 3G in Romania and we are glad Romanian users will now enjoy most advanced communication experiences - music, video clips, games, movies, video calling, and unlimited data services. Combining affordability with cutting-edge 3G technology, Motorola V975 will give Connex 3G users the option to access innovative mobile multi-media and entertainment solutions. As Connex introduces the next generation of telecom services, we are honored to support its efforts through the V975 and, soon, other 3G handsets in our portfolio".

Connex has over 4.910.000 customers in Romania, as of December 31, 2004.
