3 video mobiles now available in over 8,800 UK stores

April 23, 2005

3, UK's first video mobile network, announced that there are now over 8,800 retail outlets in the UK selling 3 video mobiles, an increase of over 4,000 a year ago.

3's continued rollout of outlets is being driven by an increase in general retailers stocking ThreePay, 3's great value pay-as-you-go offer, as well as an increase in the number of independent retailers stocking 3's services.

Major outlets stocking 3's products and services:

Carphone Warehouse 594
Phones4U 353
Dixons 205
The Link 290
Currys 388

3's pay monthly or contract services are also available in over 500 independent dealers across the UK and 150 Superdrug "3 Points" or "store within a store".

ThreePay video mobiles

ThreePay, 3's pay-as-you-go offer, is available in over 850 Woolworths stores and 550 Argos stores. Other general retailers stocking 3 include 285 Comet stores and 250 Jessops stores. Approximately 4,200 stockists sell 3's products and services, with over 500 dealers.

Top-up on ThreePay

ThreePay vouchers are on sale from over 70,000 points in the UK, ranging from petrol stations to supermarkets to local corner shops. 1350 Tescos supermarkets, petrol stations and express stores are all now selling top-ups with 550 Sainsbury supermarkets, 700 Superdrug stores and 1,200 Threshers up and down the country. Customers can also purchase top-ups via their handsets or online.

Gareth Jones, COO said: "3 is the challenger bringing value back into this market for the UK consumer. Our retail presence demonstrates our commitment to making 3 the mobile brand of choice on the High Street. Over 3 million customers on our network are already enjoying 3's great value."

Marc Allera, Sales Director said: "3's retail footprint is now second to none. Today's announcement demonstrates 3's commitment to offering 3's products and services up and down the country. Our retail partners are vital in this process and I'd like to thank them for their commitment and support. 3 has brought value back to the customer."
