AIRCOM and Siradel co-market 3G planning toolsdate: August 11, 2001 French radio wave propagation expert Siradel and AIRCOM, the UK-based network planning specialist, have signed a deal to co-market their 3G wireless network planning tools to their customer bases. As part of the agreement, AIRCOM will offer Siradel's latest radio propagation modelling tool Volcano as an option within its ENTERPRISE network planning suite to wireless operators, equipment vendors and systems integrators. For those customers who choose to implement Volcano, AIRCOM will provide first-line support while Siradel will provide technical back-up. In turn, Siradel will be able to offer its customers the opportunity to benefit from AIRCOM's full network planning suite when purchasing Volcano. Andrew Blake, director of product engineering at AIRCOM, said: Near-perfect RF propagation modelling is really a necessity for the profitable development of 3G networks. With the robust, state-of-the-art Volcano tool available within our ENTERPRISE Suite, our customers will have access to another valuable tool to use in the design and maintenance of their 3G infrastructure. The non-exclusive agreement follows Siradel's launch of Volcano in June this year. The tool uses proprietary algorithms to quickly predict wireless coverage and quality of service with near-perfect accuracy, while giving network radio engineers more features and flexibility than ever before.
