Telenor ready for 3G billingdate: August 16, 2001 Convergys Corporation, developers of billing and customer care services, announced today that the Norway operator Telenor Mobil has selected the Geneva Active Revenue Management (ARM) product to rate and bill services for billing GPRS and UMTS services. The Geneva software was selected as a platform to allow Telenor Mobil to bring new products and services to market quickly and to assist the company with its drive to reduce IT costs. Convergys' Geneva software will be used to rate and bill approximately 2.2 million customers, including residential and corporate. Services to be billed include voice telephony and data services. Content services will be supplied via GPRS and later via UMTS. Telenor Mobil will use Geneva's full mobile functionality, including the Geneva TAP3 module, which fully supports the international TAP3 standard for billing roaming customers. The Geneva product is replacing Telenor Mobil's in-house mainframe legacy billing system.
