Ansoft Announces Deal With Rohde & Schwarz Linking EDA With 3G Waveform Generation Softwaredate: August 17, 2001 Ansoft Corporation announced an agreement with test and measurement equipment manufacturer, Rohde & Schwarz to provide links between its popular WinIQSIM communication 3G waveform generation software and Ansoft's communication design products, Serenade and Symphony. The new capability will allow RF designers and system architects for 3G network to simulate communication systems under the same conditions used in hardware testing and product development. By providing access to the latest communication standards, Ansoft and Rohde & Schwarz ensure designers will have a distinct advantage in qualifying component and system specification under actual operating conditions much earlier in the design process. WinIQSIM permits the calculation of I and Q baseband signals, which are in turn used with Rohde and Schwarz signal generators to excite communication transceiver radios. Under the new agreement, Ansoft's Serenade and Symphony communication design products will have access to the I and Q waveform data. Designers will be able to apply these waveforms to nonlinear high-frequency circuits using Serenade or communication systems using Symphony. The new capability will be available in the next generation design environment -- Ansoft Designer, which is currently in development.
