Toppan Printing to Sell 3G Contentdate: August 26, 2001 The Nihon Keizai Shimbum newspaper on Sunday reported Toppan Printing, Japan's top printing house, announced it will offer a wide range of digital content to view using high-speed 3G mobile handsets. The company source did not specify details of the method, but it is believed the company will sell content to 3G service providers including the world's largest data carrier DoCoMo, KDDI and J-Phone. The content services will include mini games, short video clips and digit photos to download. The company will charge for premium services such as games and specialist financial information. As well as providing its own content, the company will also act as a content broker, aiming to purchase over 10,00 different content from other sources by early 2004 and to distribute it to the domestic service providers.
