LGE supplied CDMA equipment, based on the 800 megahertz frequency range, to around 30,000 subscriber lines in Tashkent, the capital. The number of lines will be expanded to 200,000 by 2004.

LGE plans to upgrade its CDMA network in Uzbekistan into a CDMA 1X system, referred as the migration path from 2G systems to 3G systems. 3G services in Uzbekistan should be available by the end of 2002, the company said.
