CMG is driving force behind 3G

date: August 1, 2002

CMG has established a Business Readiness Practice dedicated to providing launch management services for third-generation (3G) mobile networks and on air services.

Reporting to board level, the team provides commercial risk management and single point accountability on GPRS and 3G mobile network projects. The team comprises ten specialised consultants, who have each taken leading roles in the development and launch of new mobile networks. The Business Readiness team is currently working on UMTS rollouts in the UK and mainland Europe for major licence holders.

“As an independent third party, we are geared up to drive the pre-launch activities necessary to achieve network assurance and validation of business processes,” said Peter McAllister, CMG’s practice manager. “This includes end-to-end functional testing, support systems readiness audits and user trials.”

“Seven out of ten mobile operators worldwide already use CMG, which gives us unrivalled visibility in the industry. The team has proven its ability to drive ICT development work and maintain the critical schedules that are required to meet the network operators’ launch dates,” said McAllister. “We now plan to expand the breadth of our service to include a range of other projects where complex development work must co-incide with cross-organisational business processes.”
