Hutchison on course with the launchdate: August 9, 2002 Hutchison Whampoa remains committed to its schedule of starting customer trials of its 3G mobile services in Britain and Italy this year, the Hong Kong-based conglomerate said. "We are definitely still going ahead. We will start out customer trial program around October. UK and Italy will start first," the spokesperson said, adding the company hopes to begin customer trials in Hong Kong and Sweden by the end of the year. "We have signed agreements with Motorola and NEC, so we will have an abundant supply of handsets when we launch," the spokesperson said.
