August 4, 2004
The ninth annual 3G World Congress & Exhibition, Asia's longest-established and largest mobility event, has attracted some of the biggest names in international manufacturing and technology to speak at this year's 3G World Congress.
To be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center between 15th and 19th November, the 3GWC conference roster will feature: Marc Rouanne, Chief Operating Officer, Alcatel Mobile Communications Group; Carl-Henric Svanberg, President & Chief Executive Officer of Ericsson; Yafang Sun, Chairwoman of the Board for Huawei Technologies; Pascal Debon, President, Wireless Networks, Nortel Networks; Irwin Jacobs, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Qualcomm and Lothar Pauly, a Board member of Siemens Information and Communication Mobile Group.
"At this year's event spokespeople from all mobile technology standards - including CDMA, GSM and TD-SCDMA - will meet to discuss industry initiatives, emerging business opportunities and to resolve the various differences of opinion that are inevitable in a highly competitive industry," said Daniel Kirwin, IIR's Managing Director, Asia.
The 3G World Congress & Exhibition is the only annual 3G event in Asia that serves the entire telecoms industry. The exhibition will feature in excess of 100 companies displaying the latest product and services available in the 3G industry. Kirwin stated, "With over 70 exhibitors from 14 countries occupying over 2,500 square metres the exhibition area is nearly sold out."
