SK Telecom launches Mobile Phone Virus Vaccine Service

SK Telecom, the nation's top mobile carrier announced Tuesday the launch of downloading service of V3 Mobile, the cell phone virus vaccine.

Last June, SK Telecom and Korean computer security solution developers such as AhnLab ub-ware(www.ub-ware.com) and AhnLab(www.ahnlab.com) introduced the world's first anti-virus solution for cell phones, which operates on WIPI, a homegrown wireless Internet platform.

The mobile operator said that commercial service of downloading the software and diagnosing cell phones would be launched from Wednesday. Users can test their cell phones directly or on real-time and update engines.

SK Telecom said that it would run a cell phone virus reporting center and roll out mobile phones equipped with vaccine applications.
