IIJ introduces 3G and public wireless LAN options

August 23, 2005

Internet Initiative Japan, one of Japan's Internet-access and comprehensive network solutions providers, announced that it will add new 3G mobile and public wireless LAN options to the IIJmio Mobile Access service for retail customers starting August 23, 2005.

The new services are "IIJmio Mobile Access/3G" for 3G mobile phone users, "IIJmio Mobile Access/Wireless LAN" for public wireless LAN users, and "IIJmio Mobile Access/PRO", which provides a broad mobile environment that includes PHS, 3G mobile, and public wireless LAN access. As an incentive, IIJmio Mobile Access/Pro will be free of charge during the promotional campaign running to the end of October 2005.

With the diversification of mobile communications services such as 3G mobile phones and public wireless LANs, a growing number of users require different communication services based on location and network environment. Hence, IIJ will continue to improve user convenience through the expansion of its mobile services.
