Nokia and Check Point announces next-generation security alliancedate: December 12, 2001 Nokia and Check Point Software Technologies announced an alliance whereby the two companies have tightly aligned their strategies, engineering, innovation priorities, and resources at virtually all levels of the two organizations to address the security needs of 2.5G and 3G wireless networks. As part of this expanded alliance, Nokia and Check Point will leverage their respective engineering resources to innovate and deliver leading Internet security solutions which combine the unique strengths of both organizations. The VPN and firewall technology utilized in all the Nokia Internet security appliances will be based on Check Point VPN-1/ FireWall-1 software. Also, Nokia and Check Point will begin to deliver a series of innovative, high availability and performance enhancements based on the combination of Nokia's patented CryptoCluster technology and Check Point's SecureXL. A fully clustered Nokia Check Point solution will be available at the end of Q1 2002. Customers can expect to see immediate benefits of this expanded relationship. Nokia and Check Point already protect the perimeter of mobile networks worldwide. This expanded alliance, will intensify the Nokia Check Point collaboration in the area of mobile network security to address the unique security needs of operators deploying 2.5G and 3G networks.
