NetMate to Ease the Migration to 2.5G and 3G Wireless Networksdate: December 13, 2001 Network Planning Systems (NPS), announced the worldwide availability of the Next Generation Wireless enabled version of the popular NetMate Network Design & Optimization Suite. This represents the first major upgrade since NPS acquired the NetMate rights from Nortel Networks last year. NetMate for Wireless is a comprehensive, vendor-agnostic suite of tools that addresses the entire fixed line portion of the wireless network, from the BTS/Node-B's to the PSTN and internet backbone. The NetMate Suite provides integrated design and optimization capability for both packet data and traditional voice traffic and easily interfaces to complementary systems such as RF/radio network planning systems. It is highly configurable by the Network Planner and is compatible with all major wireless standards including: WCDMA/UMTS, cdma2000, GSM, CDMA, and TDMA. Wireless Network Operators around the globe can now benefit from: - significantly reduced capital and operating costs through more efficient
network design and roll-out "Next generation wireless technologies have dramatically increased the planning challenges; both the technological complexity of packet-based services, and the inherent difficulty evolving through multiple generations. NetMate enables Wireless Network Operators to quickly and effectively cut through the complexity and pinpoint the most efficient network solution." said Ian Easson, President & CEO of NPS, in making today's announcement.
