Sydkraft Bredband and Orange Sverige signs framework agreement on UMTS networkdate: December 28, 2001 Sydkraft Bredband and Orange Sverige AB have signed a framework agreement concerning rent of antenna sites on existing masts, and on Sydkraft´s buildings for Orange UMTS network rollout in southern Sweden. The work will commence at the beginning of 2002. “The agreement will not only save infrastructure costs but will also reduce the number of masts being constructed. The reduction of masts will benefit the environment”, says Jerry Huxtable, COO at Orange Sverige AB. Sydkraft Bredband has a number of attractive sites in southern Sweden with existing masts and buildings in line with the plans of Orange Sverige. The agreement in no way diminishes our efforts to share sites with all operators in further efforts to reduce mast numbers and save infrastructure costs. Orange Sverige will have a network with full population coverage by the end of 2003, and will use its own radio infrastructure to operate at least 30 percent of the network.
