Anite Introduces U-RAMS UMTS Radio Measurement Platform
December 19, 2002
Anite, a provider of test and measurement technology for the wireless
communications industry, announced today availability of the U-RAMS
UMTS radio measurement platform, an extension of the company's RAMS
solution that is tailored to meet the RF testing requirements of
3G mobile phones and wireless devices.
The U-RAMS enables terminal manufacturers and independent test
houses to perform RF conformance tests, as specified by the 3GPP,
on their handsets. The U-RAMS platform incorporates automated conformance
test scripts, as well as a comprehensive set of logging, error recovery
and analysis tools that minimize test time and streamline the development
and introduction of user equipment (UE) devices.
The U-RAMS UMTS radio measurement platform is designed to perform
the Transmitter, Receiver and Performance tests specified by 3GPP
and required by the Global Certification Forum (GCF). The U-RAMS
can be supplied as an extension of Anite's industry-leading RAMS
radio measurement solution which, in this configuration, supports
highly automated RF testing of multi-RAT 2G (GSM), 2.5G (GPRS) and
3G terminals. The system also includes a development mode that enables
users to create their own tests that can be used during development
phases, as well as to supplement conformance testing. These capabilities
maximise applicability of the U-RAMS platform, significantly increasing
cost effectiveness.
"Anite is focused on hastening the introduction of 3GPP-compliant
terminals for W-CDMA networks worldwide," said Daniel Oosthuizen,
director, Anite.
