Ericsson signed CDMA2000 1X Contract with PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia

Ericsson has signed an agreement with PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia
(TELKOM) in Bali to supply its CDMA2000 1X infrastructure solutions
for 631,800 lines in Indonesia covering Jabotabek area (Jakarta
- Bogor - Tangerang - Bekasi).
"We are honored to develop and expand our strategic partnership
with TELKOM by providing a new 3G network based on CDMA2000 1X,"
said Ulf Månsson, president of PT Ericsson Indonesia.
Ericsson will begin network deployment immediately.
"The compact design and industry leading performance characteristics
of Ericsson's CDMA2000 1X solution will help TELKOM get 3G services
to their customers in the fastest and most cost-efficient way possible,"
said Åke Persson, president of Ericsson CDMA Systems.
Ericsson said the introduction of CDMA2000 1X will enhance the
users data experience with high-speed data services at speeds of
up to 153 kbps. CDMA2000 will also provide increased voice capacity
for TELKOM.
