O2 awards Wireless Facilities with 3G contract
December 30, 2004
Wireless Facilities, a leader in the design, deployment and management of wireless communication networks, technology networks and security systems, announced that it has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to provide 3G radio engineering capability for O2 in the United Kingdom. The contract is part of a program involving multiple sites in the United Kingdom and is anticipated to be completed by third quarter of 2005. Further terms of the award were not disclosed.
"As an industry leader, O2 is committed to working with the strongest partners possible, and we are pleased to have found in WFI the technical strengths that we need to support our 3G program," says Dave Williams, Chief Technical Officer of O2.
"More and more carriers have a need to supplement their engineering resources for their aggressive 3G programs," said Eric M. DeMarco, President and CEO of WFI. "We are pleased to once again be chosen by a major carrier to provide our proven network engineering expertise."
