Hong Kong CSL select Nokia as first 3G handset partner

Nokia announced that CSL has selected Nokia as their first 3G handset partner and have chosen the Nokia 6630 smartphone for their 3G WCDMA product portfolio. The Nokia 6630 phone offers online e-mail, capability to download and view e-mail attachments, mobile broadband access to multimedia content, live video streaming and video conferencing.

"We congratulate CSL for their commercial 3G network launch and we are delighted to work as their first 3G handset partner. We will continue to work closely together in bringing unique and exciting 3G mobile experience to CSL customers through the Nokia 6630 smartphone," said Bruce Lam, General Manager, Hong Kong & Macau, Customer & Market Operations, Nokia

"With the demand for multimedia mobile content and data growing strongly, we believe the 3G mass market is here. With its powerful imaging and computer features, Nokia 6630 works seamlessly with our integrated 3G / EDGE mobile network and is ideal for bringing CSL's business and consumer 3G services to life," said Hubert Ng, Chief Executive Officer, CSL.

The Nokia 6630 smartphone will be available through CSL stores in Hong Kong. Based on Symbian OS, the Nokia 6630 phone is a tri-band handset designed to work on 3G (WCDMA), EDGE and 2G (GSM 900/1800/1900) networks around the world.
