Vodafone K.K. announces that, as part of its new 3G lineup, it will commence sales of the high end Vodafone 902SH handset by Sharp on 29 December in the Kanto-Koshin region, with a nationwide rollout following thereafter.

The Vodafone 902SH features a Mobile ASV display, which is based on ASV (Advanced Super View) liquid crystal display technology found in Sharp's AQUOS line of LCD TVs. As a result customers can enjoy remarkably clear viewing in bright locations outside and in dark spots indoors.

In addition the handset display offers wide views of 160 degrees* from all angles without any colour distortion.

*In conformance with JEITA standards (5:1 contrast ratio)

The main features of the Vodafone 902SH are as follows:

- Mobile ASV LCD display for superior viewing from all angles and 180 degree reversible Swivel Style screen

- Auto focus 2.02 megapixel mobile CCD camera with 2x optical zoom

- 3D surround stereo speakers for realistic sound

- International roaming for seamless voice, mail, web and video call services in Japan and abroad

*Note: Vodafone 902/802/702 series 3G handsets have been developed for the Vodafone Group based on 3GPP world standards. In some cases operations and functions may differ from products previously offered by Vodafone K.K.

*Domestic 3G network population coverage is expected to be 99.73% at the end of December 2004. As of 28 December, voice roaming is available on GSM networks in 112 countries and regions, with Vodafone live! roaming in 45 of them. In addition, voice and Vodafone live! roaming is available on 3G (W-CDMA) networks in 10 countries and regions abroad, with video call roaming available in 3 of them.
