Sprint Aims to offer Whole Films on Cell-Phones

US mobile company Sprint is reportedly beavering away on a system to offer full-length movies to its Vision phone customers. So far, the service features ten full-length titles cut down into bite-sized chunks of five minutes each.
However, as the operator admits, the films are far from blockbusters. The current crop includes "Short Circuit" (1986) and "One-Eyed Jacks" (1961) which will probably not set the pulses racing among film-loving cell-phone users. Yet the company stressed that its library is growing.
As one executive involved in running the service, quoted in the US press, put it "The closer you get to the theatrical release date the more complicated the negotiations with the movie studios. We'll eventually get to the point where we'll be able to get movies soon after theatrical release."
