Orange and Titus Interactive to develop new games for UMTS phones

Orange SA, the mobile telephony subsidiary of France Telecom, and the producer of video games Titus Interactive are planning to co-operate on the development of a new electronic game that may be played on a UMTS mobile handset.

The third generation phones, which in two years' time will enable the high-speed transmission of data, will be capable of offering users the video games to which Titus owns the rights. Titus boss Eric Caen said that the market for video games was about to commence a new phase of strong growth.
