AuthenTec to Showcase EntrePad Sensor Interoperability to increase personal securitydate: February 13, 2002 At the 3GSM World Congress, AuthenTec the leader in advanced biometric fingerprint semiconductor products, will present a working demonstration of next generation, personal security cellular solutions. The demonstration will showcase the combined efforts of AuthenTec and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) to deliver mobile solutions that reduce mobile device theft, eliminate passwords, deliver more secure e-commerce transactions and protect business and personal information on next-generation mobile devices. The joint technology leverages AuthenTec's touch-and-go biometric fingerprint sensor, the EntrePad(TM) AES3500, with TI's OMAP (TM) processor platform to significantly increase personal security and convenience. The AES3500, the smallest touch-and-go fingerprint biometric device available today, surpasses the size and power requirements for small battery operated consumer devices, delivering superior security and convenience to users of these handheld devices. The AES3500 is based on AuthenTec's unique, patented subsurface TruePrint(TM) technology, which reads below the surface of the skin to eliminate acquisition or recognition failures such as dirt, grime, dry skin or excessive moisture. AuthenTec sensors are the first and only fingerprint-based biometric authentication solutions that work for everyone, everywhere, under the most real-world conditions.
