Electric Pocket Forms Relationship for PDA Messenger MMS Solutiondate: February 15, 2002 Electric Pocket today announces that it is a selected partner by Ericsson on PDA Messenger, which is part of Ericsson's Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) total solution. PDA Messenger enables Palm OS devices users to send handwritten notes and sketches as multimedia messages to wireless users who can access MMS messages from any MMS enabled terminals, email accounts, and WAP enabled terminals. PDA Messenger brings powerful multimedia capabilities to Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) users, including the ability to import, annotate and send digital photographs. The ability to edit and share photographs over a wireless connection is widely expected to be one of the key drivers of the adoption of next-generation 2.5 G and 3G wireless technologies among businesses and consumers. Research groups predict that at least two billion wireless photo messages will be sent annually by 2004 and photo messaging will be one of the leading commercial uses of new wireless technology. PDA Messenger will be demonstrated by Ericsson at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes next week. Ericsson selected Electric Pocket as a partner on PDA Messenger, which is based on Electric Pocket's application. Ericsson has worked with application providers through Ericsson Mobility World, which is a global network of regional centers and global/local Ericsson Mobility World Web-based facilities, with the aim of encouraging rapid creation and market deployment of Mobile Internet applications and services. "We are delighted that our Multimedia Messaging product has been chosen by Ericsson and that it will form part of their MMS Infrastructure," said Steve Bennett, Electric Pocket's chief executive officer. "We are very excited by the opportunity this creates for the mass market adoption of our multimedia messaging solutions and the new capabilities that can be offered to the existing PDA user base."
