4G mobile equipment from MCTdate: February 28, 2002 Mobile Communications Tokyo (MCT) is reported to have developed a board for use in mobile communications base station systems incorporating the software radio technology which is capable of processing signals at 100Mbps, the 4G standard. The MCT-developed wireless signal processing software radio technology has recently been finding favour with the telecoms industry. The technology allows for smaller and lower-priced products, instead of the hardware processing typically used to date. The company will begin sample shipments to telecom equipment manufacturers by March and expects sales of JPY400m (EUR3.41m).
