Dilithium Networks offers 3G-324M protocol on TI's OMAP platform
February 17, 2004
Dilithium Networks, a provider of wireless multimedia solutions, announced that its H.324M/3G-324M video-telephony and conferencing protocol software is now available on the Texas Instruments platform. The implementation includes Dilithium Networks' patent-pending AnswerFast technology, which can reduce call set-up times by 4-8 seconds compared to other protocol stack implementations. The H.324M protocol is an ITU-T standard, which has been adopted by both 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards bodies, and enables real-time streaming and conversational video services over wireless networks.
"The H.324M/3G-324M protocol is the multimedia protocol of choice for leading 3G operators to deliver conversational voice and video services to its customers. There is an increasing interest among handset vendors to offer 3G-324M enabled handsets to the market to support richer applications like video-telephony, videomail and streaming. We are happy to collaborate with TI and introduce our solution for 3G multimedia phones on TI's OMAP platform," said Art Bailey, vice president of worldwide engineering for Dilithium Networks. "Our 3G-324M stack incorporates a very valuable technology called AnswerFast that significantly reduces call set-up time and thereby enhances user experience with mobile video services," he added.
"As H324M/3G-324M multimedia forms an important corner stone of future 3G operator services, we are delighted to have Dilithium Networks' high quality protocol stack ported onto our platform ready for fast implementation in customer solutions," said Paul Werp, worldwide marketing director for TI's OMAP platform.
