PrairieComm announces Euro 100 3G reference phone platform

PrairieComm, a developer and supplier of 3G baseband processors and software, and Mtekvision, a developer and supplier of image processors for embedded cameras for cellular phones, revolutionised the 3G market with the announcement of FronTier100, a Euro 100 bill of materials UMTS/GPRS/GSM reference phone platform. The multimedia-rich platform boasts a bill of materials similar to existing 2.5G handsets-bringing the cost of 3G

phones down to a 2.5G price. Additionally, its highly integrated design facilitates the creation of small, stylish form factors.
