Nextreaming chosen to create high quality video mobile content in Germany

February 22, 2004

Nextreaming, a in enabling mobile video, and PLAZAMEDIA, the largest Sports Production Company in Germany announced the deployment and use of Nextreaming encoding products in the creation of video content for mobile phones over GPRS networks. Nexencoder Enterprise is currently being utilized as a solution to create content for D2's Vodafone live!

The relationship was completed after quality, business, and interoperability testing by PLAZAMEDIA over Vodafone's Live! Network for MMS and streaming of video content to mobile phones.

"A quality user experience is essential to successful video service. Nextreaming's Nexencoder Enterprise provides us with increasing flexibility to create high quality content which can be viewed on phones all over Germany.", said Matthias Ziehl, Head of New Media at PLAZAMEDIA.

"Standards such as 3GPP provide operators the flexibility to have choices when deciding on vendors. We are delighted and honored to have been selected by PLAZAMEDIA and D2," said Dr.Il-Taek Lim, CEO of Nextreaming. "Our goal is to ensure interoperability and quality, both of which have been successfully achieved in our Nexencoder Enterprise."

Nexencoder Enterprise provides proven compatibility with 3GPP compliant servers using its proprietary 2-pass encoding algorithm. Therefore, it is ensuring a consistent and quality experience for customers. Additional features include the capability to do batch encoding and automation to create and manage 3GPP files quickly for download and/or streaming.

Nextreaming has a range of encoding solutions such as Xenon and Nexcaster for mobile video service besides Nexencoder Enterprise. Xenon is the best optimized encoder for providing video contents with high quality and compression. Nexcaster is a real-time encoder for broadcasting service.

Nextreaming will be showcasing its complete line of mobile multimedia solutions at the 3GSM World Congress 2004 from Feb 23-26 in Cannes, France. Moreover, Nextreaming is going to provide an opportunity for visitors to purchase Xenon at a special price during the Congress.
