February 15, 2005

Responding to steadily increasing demand for video performance on NTT DoCoMo FOMA mobile phones, PacketVideo Corporation announced that Mitsubishi's new D901i FOMA phone features PacketVideo's pvPlayer multimedia software for high-quality video streaming, plus local video and audio playback. The new D901i mobile phone features "slide direct" design for fast video viewing and phone calling action, with video at up to 30 frames per second on a 2.4-inch QVGA display.

"We are very pleased about the adoption of PacketVideo solutions by top Japanese manufacturers like Mitsubishi in new FOMA phones for the cutting-edge Japanese market," said Dr. James Brailean, CEO of PacketVideo.

"Mitsubishi is producing innovative multimedia phones like the new slider-style D901i for FOMA," said Masao Hamamura, deputy general manager, Mobile Terminal Center of Mitsubishi. "We are pleased to work with PacketVideo's multimedia experts for a very high-quality video and audio user experience."
