Aspects launches plug-in-and-go 3G test system
February 16, 2005
3G/GSM test and software specialist Aspects launches the industry's first system for deep level testing of 3G phone, USIM and network interoperability that can be deployed and used productively in less than half a day, even by unskilled personnel without training.
Aspects' new TTS 3G test system is the latest in a family of solutions for testing to all international mobile industry standards. It follows the company's TTS GSM system launched late last year and precedes a version for CDMA planned for release next.
TTS 3G lets manufacturers and operators run a complete series of pre-conformance tests, validate any phone/USIM/network combination, and verify compliance with latest standards. It costs significantly less than rival systems yet is much easier to use, requiring no complex pre-configuration.
Users are guided through every stage of testing, from confirming a single proactive command to verifying all of a phone's capabilities.
Running such tests in house means official testing body certifications can be sought with more confidence and achieved more quickly, cutting testing fees and getting new phones and network services into the hands of paying subscribers faster.
TTS 3G tests mobile functionality against all of the 300 specific tests defined in 3GPP TS 11.10-4 Mobile Station SIM Application Toolkit conformance specification Release 1999. It comes with a full set of Java-based test scripts for every eventuality, and includes example scripts that can be adapted for future requirements by anyone with Java or C programming experience.
