Orange offer Intellisync powered SANYO S750 handset

February 24, 2005

Intellisync Corporation, a developer and marketer of wireless software for the mobile communications industry, announced that SANYO Electric is providing Intellisync's synchronization technology with its new S750 handset in Europe. The new 3G handset -- the first SANYO-branded product offering for the European mobile market -- is sold exclusively by Orange as the mobile carrier launches its commercial 3G services in the UK and France. Orange is the mobile arm of the France Telecom Group.

Following extensive evaluation, SANYO selected Intellisync's technology to provide a SyncML DS client application for the S750 that is designed to synchronize calendars, contacts and tasks both locally and over-the-air (OTA) via Orange's network. SANYO will also offer Orange customers the ability to download a separate solution -- Intellisync for SANYO software -- to facilitate desktop-based synchronization of PIM data between their handsets and Microsoft Outlook.

The S750 handset builds on SANYO's established reputation for high-quality consumer electronics. Developed in close collaboration between SANYO and Orange, the S750 also offers a mega pixel camera and a QVGA screen.

Orange's UK-based 3G network was launched in July 2004, with 66 percent population coverage -- including all large cities and towns throughout the UK, along with business parks, major rail routes and airports. Orange launched its 3G network in France six months ago and currently offers 3G coverage in more than 20 major cities, including Paris.

"Intellisync is delighted to have been selected over a number of other providers to help fuel SANYO's entry into the European mobile marketplace," said Intellisync's Chief Operating Officer Clyde Foster. "This important relationship with SANYO and Orange -- one of world's leading mobile carriers, with operations in 18 countries worldwide -- further extends Intellisync's presence in the global carrier marketplace. We believe our ability to provide mobility solutions for a broad range of devices, applications and data types continues to drive adoption of our products by leading mobile carriers, device manufacturers, software developers and enterprises."
