February 12, 2006
Openera Technologies, a developer of advanced mobile client applications for wireless operators deploying IMS and 3G services, announced that Samsung is integrating Openera's IMS Mobile Client and application solution suite into its mobile phones. Under the agreement, Openera will license its client software featuring its new peer-to peer video and multimedia content sharing applications on Samsung mobile phones.
"Samsung's selection of Openera highlights the momentum of our solutions in the marketplace and is yet another proof-point of the benefits of our carrier-tested mobile IMS client and rich set of real-time IMS applications," said Joel Hughes, Openera CEO. "Mobile operators deploying Samsung handsets featuring Openera's IMS Mobile Client and Video Sharing can offer their subscribers a rich and personalized multimedia experience that drives collaboration, community and new levels of productivity."
Openera's solution is an integrated application client that serves as a single, simplified pathway for launching and managing a portfolio of pre-IMS and IMS mobile applications.
Openera's Mobile IMS Client is built on a presence-powered Active Phone Book that serves as the springboard for launching Openera's portfolio of real-time, peer-to-peer communications services including Video Sharing and Multimedia Content Sharing. Openera SIP-based solutions enable the rapid delivery of these appealing multimedia IP communication services on mobile devices spanning 2.5G, 3G, IMS and WiFi networks.
