Agilent adds IP UTRAN analysis to 3G UMTS signaling analyzer
February 13, 2006
Agilent Technologies introduced the most efficient and powerful IP UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) analyzer in the industry. With new measurement capabilities, the Agilent signaling analyzer real-time platform accelerates the development and deployment of 3G UMTS networks and helps customers migrate their networks to emerging IP UTRAN architectures.
IP UTRAN provides UMTS network operators with flexible network expansion and makes lower bandwidth cost possible by leveraging economies of scale of Ethernet and IP. Network operators can increase revenue with a faster time to market and reduce costs in the network implementation.
With the introduction of IP transport in the UTRAN, hybrid ATM and IP-based UMTS radio access networks become commonplace, creating a real migration challenge for operators. Agilent enables testing of these hybrid networks, giving unparalleled visibility and troubleshooting capability across single transport technology and hybrid UMTS Radio Access Networks. The Agilent J6846A signaling analyzer real-time R5 HSDPA software gives breakthrough visibility and comprehensive analysis of the signaling and user plane performance on the IP UTRAN Iu, Iur, Iub-cs (circuit-switched), and Iub-ps (packet-switched) interfaces. This functionality enables customers to quickly identify the network performance and quality issues, both UTRAN and IP UTRAN, making complex migrations simpler to implement.
The signaling analyzer comes with a variety of applications to examine radio network impairments, such as radio coverage, signal levels, call-processing performance and user plane quality.
The J6846A signaling analyzer real-time software R5 HSDPA with UTRAN / IP UTRAN is available now.
