Ericsson selected by KPN as 3G HSDPA supplier

February 28, 2006

Ericsson and KPN have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the roll-out of a high speed mobile broadband network based on HSDPA for both KPN and Telfort in the Netherlands. Ericsson will be the sole supplier for the 3G radio access of these networks.

Marco Visser, COO of KPN Mobile the Netherlands: "The main reason for selecting Ericsson is that they will provide us with the capability to launch HSDPA technology before the end of this year."

Nils De Baar, President, Ericsson in the Netherlands, says: "We are very proud to provide KPN and Telfort with our advanced HSDPA technology, which will allow them to offer advanced mobile services to consumers. Being selected as 3G radio network and HSDPA sole supplier confirm our long lasting partnership."
