China Mobile emphasises on dual-mode handsets

China Mobile, the largest mobile telecom operator in China, will lay emphasis on handsets especially dual-mode terminals that can adopt both 2G and 3G in the second round test of TD-SCDMA.

China Mobile is busy with equipment purchase matters, which is estimated to finish before this Chinese lunar New Year.

The second round test of TD-SCDMA, which is hosted by China Mobile, will start in this March and last for seven months before it is put into commercial use. Besides Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qinhuangdao, Tianjin and Shenyang are listed in the testing cities.

Because of more cities are added in the test, China Mobile will stress on optimizing the network and making the network more rationalized.

On the other hand, equipment manufacturers are promoting their advanced products to win more purchase orders.

In addition, the eye-catching data businesses and related terminals will be the concentration in the test. The dual-mode handsets such as ZTE's latest product U350 mobile phone attract more attentions.
