TD-SCDMA HSDPA Products Will Be Available in 2007

Wang Zhiqin, deputy head of the Telecommunications Standards Research Institute at MII said at a 2007 Annual Telecom Technology Conference that more TD-SCDMA HSDPA products will be released this year.

Wang Zhiqin said, TD-SCDMA supply chain has been made more mature. Products with 384K were available last year. This year, more HSDPA products will be launched to enrich TD-SCDMA supply chain. In the future, enhanced HSDPA products will also be developed.

She said, last year, a lot of problems in TD-SCDMA technology and products were tackled and resolved. Wang indicated, HSDPA will be the focus of TD-SCDMA in year 2007. So far the standard stipulation has been basically finished. The TD-SCDMA/GSM dual mode handsets will be made better to allow automatic roaming and even automatic switches. The uplink speed will be available in 2008.
