Motorola ready to release 3G phones in China
February 12, 2007
As soon as the Mainland China's 3G network constructions are completed, the company will release the 3G mobile phones, said Motorola's Asia-Pacific Region vice president Ian Chapman Banks days ago.
No matter what kind of standard will be chose by the Chinese government finally, Motorola, the world's second largest mobile terminals manufacturer, promised to supply the relevant mobile products within shortest time.
Driven by the shining sales of Motorola's specially customized personal digital assistants in the Chinese market, the company has decided to make more such products like MOTOROKR E6 to satisfy the country's increasing need.
Compared to Motorola, its competitor Sony Ericsson seems not so exciting about this.
Carl-Henric Svanverg, chief executive officer of the world's fourth largest mobile phones maker Sony Ericsson, expressed last December on a world-class telecom Expo that China's 3G mobile terminal market is expected to be a small one.
In order to save costs, the company has not made a decision to produce such mobile phones currently.
