Turkey plans to offer four 3G licences within six months

February 21, 2007

The Turkish government has approved a plan to issue four 3G mobile licences, with a tender to be launched within six months. The minimum prices for the four concessions have been set at EUR252 million (USD330.9 million), EUR224 million, EUR194 million and EUR140 million respectively according to the government’s official gazette. Turkey is currently home to three cellular operators: Turkcell, Vodafone-Telsim and Avea.
