HiQ Boosts Siemens' 3G Team for Third Generation Mobile Systems

date: 20th January 2001, source: Business Wire

HiQ is working with international telecoms supplier Siemens ahead of the roll out of 3G mobile systems.

The assignment primarily covers project management, procurement support and network planning.

Siemens is one of several suppliers taking new initiatives ahead of the launch of the 3G networks. The roll out of the systems for Siemens' operator clients is now being prepared.

"The 3G networks will enable operators to offer their customers an entirely new range of mobile broadband services. HiQ has extensive experience of network planning, procurement and project management, for example, which will be in demand by the Siemens 3G team when it comes to selling solutions to the telecoms operators," says Erik Edhag, account manager at HiQ Stockholm.

"HiQ has strengthened its position within 3G throughout the year - a factor essentially based on our focus on high-tech and telecoms. We work with the entire telecoms chain including suppliers, operators and users. This provides us with breadth and puts us a step ahead within telecoms consulting. Working at the cutting edge of technology alongside the leading telecoms players enables us to retain our top quality and extensive technical expertise," says Lars Stugemo, CEO HiQ International.

HiQ is an IT and management consultancy focusing on high-tech solutions in the fields of telecoms, mobility and simulation technology. The company is a leader in these fields and the Nordic region is its domestic market. The Group employs some 400 people at offices in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. HiQ is listed on the OM Stockholm Stock Exchange.
