CDMA repeater from Repeater Technologies deployed in next-generation networkdate: January 15, 2002 Repeater Technologies announced today that its RC1920C CDMA repeater is now deployed in Monet Mobile Networks' next generation, data-only wireless network, marking the first use of a Repeater Technologies product in this advanced Internet- and multimedia-oriented application. The Repeater Technologies product supports North America's first data-only CDMA2000 1XRTT network, which Monet operates in Sioux Falls, S.D. The repeater, working in combination with one of the network's CDMA base stations, expands the coverage area and maintains high data throughput for Monet subscribers in the Sioux Falls area. "The successful use of our RC1920C demonstrates that our products meet the demands of the emerging next-generation networks," said Mr. Chris Branscum, president and chief executive officer of Repeater Technologies. Internet- and multimedia-based wireless data services are rapidly being implemented by network operators seeking new subscribers or additional revenues from existing, voice-only customers. Used in conjunction with base stations, repeaters offer carriers a lower cost solution for network coverage enhancement. "In addition to cost-effectiveness, repeaters give us the opportunity to complete our coverage enhancement projects more quickly, allowing us to stay ahead of rising usage demands and ensuring rapid return on investment," said Bruce Rotvold, Monet's director of engineering and system deployment. "Our partnership with Repeater Technologies complements our deployment of CDMA2000 1X wireless data services to customers in the Midwest." The Repeater Technologies RC1920C is the highest-powered, two-carrier CDMA repeater available for existing and next-generation networks. The unit provides an industry-leading 10 watts of output power per RF carrier in one cabinet.
