Allgon awarded major agreement by Teracom

date: January 16, 2002

Allgon, a supplier of radio-based infrastructure solutions, has been appointed infrastructure supplier by Teracom, a Swedish supplier of transmission capacity for telecommunication services. According to the agreement, which is valid up to and including 2004, Allgon will provide PDH radio equipment and services.

According to the agreement, Allgon will provide microwave radio equipment for various wireless communication services. An essential part of the agreement concerns 3G-expansion, since Teracom intends to offer bandwidth capacity services to Swedish 3G service providers among others.

Teracom will also use Allgon’s unique Ethernet Radio Switch solution to deploy LMDS networks, and to provide wireless data- and telephony services to the public sector and large companies. Allgon’s Ethernet solution provides cost efficient 36 Mbps data- and voice transmission, eliminating the need for costly conversion equipment normally required when connecting LANs via microwave links.

The agreement with Teracom is very important to Allgon. It confirms once again the world class of our radio link products. In addition to the Svenska UMTS Nät agreement, this gives us a strong position on the Scandinavian radio link market increasing the opportunities to win new major contracts in Europe as well as the rest of the world, says Jeff Bork, CEO of Allgon.
