Stratex Networks and EXi telecoms Announces 3G Solutions Agreement

date: January 18, 2002

DMC Stratex Networks, a solutions provider for mobile applications and broadband wireless access, and EXi telecoms, an independent provider of telecom services based in the U.K., today announced an agreement to facilitate the fast track roll-out of global 3G solutions. The agreement commences the joint pursuit of mobile infrastructure network build, operate and maintain services, as well as microwave link business opportunities. Projects under the agreement will include mobile access deployments in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific territories. Installations in Asia Pacific have already begun.

"This agreement presents significant benefits for mobile operators planning to implement 3G solutions," stated Ryan Panos, Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Service at Stratex Networks. "EXi telecoms has a proven track record of implementing and supporting the latest technology and providing high quality service and delivery. The agreement will allow Stratex Networks to focus on product development and manufacturing, while EXi telecoms will provide ramp up capability and support for our mobile and wireless solutions."

Group Managing Director of EXi telecoms, Berwyn Roberts added, "The current debate about 'when' 3G will start to be rolled out worldwide will soon be overshadowed by 'how' this will happen. EXi telecoms and Stratex Networks are working to provide a full turnkey 'solution offering' for network operators.
