Taiwan auction got a bit more excitingdate: January 23, 2002 The 3G auction went into the sixth day of bidding yesterday with Taiwan PCS Network causing more excitements in the bidding process. Except License D, all four licenses changed hands because of aggressive bidding process. Taiwan PCS Network bided actively for licenses E and B. Because of Taiwan PCS Network's aggressive bidding, the accumulated capital put aside by the bidders totaled NT$37.446 billion (NT1= US$0.0247) in the wake of 47 rounds of biddings. The total offer of NT$37.446 billion made by bidders has already exceeded the base prices set by the Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT) by NT$3.846 billion. As of the end of the 47th round of bid, Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless Communications got License E with a bid of NT$8.484 yesterday, much higher than its bid of NT$8.305 billion on Monday. Here's the result at the end of the sixth round License A - Yuan-Ze Telecom, offered NT$7.803 billion for the license, while Taiwan Cellular Corp. bid at NT$7.676 billion for the license. License B - Taiwan PCS Network Inc., which got the license with an offer NT$5.6 billion yesterday, compared with the NT$5.243 billion given by 3GO Telecommunications. License C - Taiwan Cellular won this license yesterday at NT$7.888 billion from Taiwan PCS Network, which put down NT$7.802 billion the previous day. License D - Chunghwa Telecom, offered NT$7.671 billion yesterday. License E - Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless Communications, which increased its bid yesterday from NT$8.305 billion to NT$8.484 billion.
