Commworks provides 1XRTT data network infrastructure for Verizon Wirelessdate: January 23, 2002 CommWorks, a 3Com company, is providing data network equipment for the Verizon Wireless IXRTT Express Network, the company announced today. Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless communications provider in the United States, will use CommWorks technology to increase mobile data speeds on its nationwide Express Network, enabling consumers to experience a richer Internet experience while browsing on their 1XRTT-compatible wireless devices. CommWorks’ wireless data access technology makes the concept of “the Internet in your pocket” a reality. The company provides the core data network infrastructure to enable wireless data access and interaction in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) networks. “The true promise of high-speed wireless networks lies not simply in the technology, but in the new services and applications that the technology will enable,” said Irfan Ali, president, CommWorks. “These networks will make wireless data both useful and usable. Consumers will benefit from increased productivity and efficiencies made possible by high-speed wireless connectivity.”
